I'm a teenage boy and I have some issues. I will start from the beginning, about three years ago I heard my mum and dad talking and I heard my dad say I know about the affair, then my mum replied yes ok I'm sorry it wont happen again. So up till now things were ok but I've noticed that my mum has been texting and taking calls when my dad is not around, she says it is from work but the man she had an affair with works at her work. So I'm worried. Also she is meant to finish work at about 8 o'clock and it takes about 15 minutes to get home but my mum takes 1 hour and a half to get home then her excuse is that she went shopping but there was no shopping at all. So you can se why I'm worried, If someone could give me and answer it would be very helpful because I really don't know what to do. I'm so worried that I have cried for hours 3 days in a row and I just want to sort this out and find the truth. Thanks for reading.

Hi Wesley -- I know you're worried and you're HURT. I can hear it in your words. But the first thing you must realize is this has nothing to do with YOU. You are NOT the cause of this and both of your parents LOVE you very much!!!

Sometimes when people get married, things happen and the communication between them goes awry. Why that happens, who knows? Perhaps it's because both parents are working, and the time spent together is too little. Both are tired when they get home, and they just don't allow enough time together anymore. Then the marriage gets stale, and one or the other partner looks for "excitement" elsewhere. YES, it's WRONG -- but people make mistakes all the time. It doesn't mean that this cannot be fixed!!!

This issues isnt' for YOU to fix. This is between your Mom and Dad. You shouldn't have to worry about this. YOUR job is to go to school, get good grades, etc. Do NOT let this interfere with your education!!! That would be a crime. Whatever happens is between Mom & Dad. It's up to THEM to fix this. PLEASE -- try not to worry about it anymore. There is NOTHING you can do about it anyway -- and worrying about it doesn't work.

God bless you Wesley -- I'll keep you in my prayers. Please update us as to what happens -- and how you're feeling from time to time, WILL YOU? We'll be here whenever you need us. Take care. Hugs, Lee
Thanks for this!

You may just want to tell your mom what you are feeling and ask her how you should handle those feelings. Even if you don't really getting along with maybe she can calm your fears. Start looking for summer activities to keep yourself busy and healthy.
