... same way some WOMEN go without showering every single day.

I think we need to be careful in this thread... I'm seeing a lot of negative generalizations. I realize that some of this is coming from a place of hurt, but please be considerate and fair to our male friends.

One test I use when I generalize (I do it though I try my absolute best not to) is to insert another stigmatized group in my statement and listen to the way it sounds.

Example: "Men don't shower enough." Not bad. Right? "Blacks don't shower enough." Clearly racist. That then tells me that perhaps I should rethink or restate what I have said.

Just something I do.

Yep, I agree. Now, I feel there's an exception to that...

Children. Question about Men / Males I do believe children do, and should more, stand out. Question about Men / Males

I don't think all males or even most males don't shower enough. And yeah, I can say the same thing about women. But the topic was men/males, so I went with it.

Here's something about men and women: Did you know women can learn to pee standing up without making a mess? I'm on a list where a link for this information was posted. I haven't tried it.

Just switching to something a little more humorous (I hope).

That is the only reason I ever wished to be a man!!! Question about Men / Males That and hot summer days doing yard work and clothing! Whew!

Yep, men and women do have their differences. The bathroom convenience (in or out of doors) was always on I envied. We would go camping and I'd have to make the 1/2 mile trek to the bathroom (add alcohol and you might as well just stay...lol). I would look at hubby and get mad! LOL. I'd make him go just because...HAHA. It was his payback for having it "easy" in that realm.

Back to the main topic...my hubby is EXTREMELY laid back. I'm the argumentative one in my house. With two daughters added in (like their mom), he doesn't speak alot anymore. LOL. In this house there's arguing but the one man probably feels as you do, rhapsody.

It's a tough situation when our home doesn't feel like our sanctuary. Can y'all have a "sit down" and work on some issues?

Well, at least doing a number 2 is universally displeasing when camping! I never liked digging my own hole . . . and, uh . . . you know . . . .

Here's the site:

Techniques to Pee Standing

It includes some links to products (in the right sidebar) to help you in your "quest." Basically, they're like tubes you can pee through, and you have to wash them when you're done. I've never seen a woman in a public restroom standing at the sink with one, and you won't see me with one. Question about Men / Males

I am sorry that you (and maybe others) have seen this thread as a negative battle against males.... that was never my attention.... it was meant for ME (a woman that lives with 3 males & has mostly males in her family) to ask and wondering..... and to add a little humor to it all while she wonders, as to not hurt or offend.

IMHO - I feel that one can asks a question that is on their mind due to their own personal experience without it having to be an attack.

None taken. Although, sometimes I think the respondent demographics might not represent the general male; your observations are not without merit.

You know, if you beat me with a stick I would still adore women. Just kidding.

I suppose that our genders will always have some difference. I am not one to embrace stereotypes, so I welcome challenges to it, and the strong of spirit.

By the way, if you're not strong of spirit, it's OK. Your cool too. (I'm not either) : )

I say, "Vive la difference!" (and if my spelling is wrong, so be it--I don't speak much French!) Question about Men / Males

Yorkieman, you might still adore women if one were to beat you, but I bet you'd flinch every time one raised her arm!

Sorry, I'm new here, and was looking for other recently seperated/divorced women to talk to. Am I in the right place?

You could start a thread asking for recently separated/divorced women to chat with in the Relationships forum (which is this one--I'm assuming that's where it would go). I'm sure there are plenty who would be interested. You can also see if anyone's interested in a live chat in the chatroom, if you wanted to do that. Question about Men / Males

And welcome to the boards! Question about Men / Males

LOL! You know, I like thinking of you as a superhero, Yorkieman! With your sidekick doggie! You save doggies from owners who mistreat them, or something. Question about Men / Males

Yesterday was H*LL in my house due to the three males that live here.... I am going to scream or at least pull my hair out - then maybe I will feel better - what do YOU think?

I am not for sure how to deal with the over abundance of maleness in the house verses little old me, the only female, but for today I am going to keep my big mouth shut and see if that makes a difference or not.... they are on their own today, no help or input from me.... not even one little opinion.

OK - good night (well, day time) - but any how.... I am going back to bed for now.... they (my male family counter parts) have started to get up for the day and now my peace is over.... SO - back to the bat cave for some safety, if only in mind.

in days of old I would tend to say it was how they were raised. boys were told it was not ok to cry, not ok to show any emotions. just my opinion

Thanks.... and I agree that in the old days that was how they (boys) were raised.... but we are in the 2000 and I dd not raise my boys that way - but they did watch their father when they were younger (before he grew up - lol).... and well, actions speak louder than words.

Big Sigh!
