First we got coffee.. it started out kind of awkward, we got coffee.. I didn't say much to him, I didn't have much to say and have social anxiety. Then we were supposed to go to the record store but they were closed.. then we were going to see a movie but the parking lot was full.. we drove around in circles for a bit and then he decided to drop me off at my car and wanted to call it a night. I hate being shy, quiet, and lame and I feel real ****** about the whole thing.

Sorry you had a setback. You did go out and did make the attempt. The results were not what you wanted, you working on it. You have to assess the date fairly and look at things to improve. And you did post about it as well, that's positive. Some people might have not mentioned the whole thing at all. (((poptart316)))

I think it's great that you were able to talk enough to get the date in the first place. I have a really hard time talking to any man that I am attracted to and then they think I'm not interested. Maybe you just didn't have enough chemistry with this guy, don't beat yourself up!

Can you come up with a list of questions that would not be too intrusive but would get your date to start talking? then you just need to be an active listener. people like when you listen to them attentively.
