People either see my insanity as something to entertain them or shun me because of my lunacy. I've put a lot of trust in people who seemed friendly, accepting, and willing to help, only to find out they had been my confidants because they enjoyed sneering at my insanity and my meanderings.
I don't want to be a cut-up anymore. I don't want people to talk to me only because of the zany things I blurt out.

Wow, sounds rough. I think I would start looking for new friends and try to control my zany side a bit so as not to scare people away

Hi dear Margot ~ You are NOT INSANE! Please DON'T put that stigma on yourself. If you were insane, you wouldn't even be able to turn your computer on. So please don't do that to yourself.

It's cruel of people to "use" you for their own pleasure. If that's what they're doing, then they're certainly NO friends and they're definitely TOXIC to be around!

You know, it's OKAY to be funny, to be zany --- people who can be like that have a GIFT! I wish I COULD be funny like that, but I don't know how. And if you try to be funny when you aren't, it comes out pretty bad. Don't try to change who you are -- STAY the way you are!! But you may want to be careful who you TRUST. Some of us trust people too soon in the friendship, and then we get hurt. And the ones who "shun" you because you ARE funny aren't friends in the first place -- who wants them!!!
I wish you were my neighbor -- I LOVE funny people! You and I would get along just FINE!!

I wish you the very best, my friend. Please take care of yourself, and God bless. Hugs, Lee

Thank you kindly for your post, it's managed to lift up my spirits and self-esteem. Maybe people don't respect me because I have an abysmal level of self-esteem- I did call myself insane, after all.
I wish you all the best and may God be with you!
