My Mom is a crack cocaine addict, and her husband is a drunk junkie as well. The other day they wrecked up the car in an accident because they we're both high. My Mom is now calling me asking me to take her here and there, and everywhere. She even wants me to drive to Oak Hill to take her to DHHR....that's a very long ride for me.
I don't want to help her anymore. She's cracking out. She is going to have her water and electric turned off. I'm tired og enabling her and making it easier for her to do crack. I don't want to help her, and I don't want to have my kids wait in the car forever neither. I'm I being to harsh....should I just ignore her for now and and explain to via email that I will no longer help a crackhead. What would you do?

Des I think you got the right idea.. and you know in your heart what you need to do for yourself , your kids and her. And following thru is the hard part now. I hope it works out for you most of all though. You so deserve to be free of pain and hurt. Take care of you and your kids hon. That is what is most important right now. Your mom and husband need to learn how to do for themselves.

Yes.. You have to think of yourself and your kids... I totally agree. My stepson is addicted to crstal meth and I know all too well what its like to have to deal with a loved one being in that condition.My heart goes out to you...
The bad thing is that i don't think you can ever do enough.. they can be so needy all the time.... its never ending....and they never think about you throught it all. Take care of you hun.... and feel no guilt for it.

Where are you Seeker, I'm in Sophia right off Beckley...have you heard of it? Now you see, Oak Hill is a bad ride for me because of all those hills on 19. You know what I'm talking about? My Mom lives in Mt. Hope, that's not that short of a ride either.

Sorry, you are going through this. I think you are making the right decision, you are a mom and have your own family to take care of. I don't know what to say about your mom, other than you can only do so much, and she has to do the rest...you have already done a great deal. HUGS!
