I'm 55 and am trying to lose weight (a great gift from the meds)! What kind of activities can I do with my women friends that don't involve a lot of food? I am sick of the movies. I live in a large city so most things should be available. Thanks so much...my head gets so full from medicine I can't think!

Here are some things I do. I try to keep up with the listings in a few different papers because I like random, strange (and free) events.
Visit museums/attractions/gardens Walk/Hike/Visit parks and beaches Attend lectures at libraries, museums, university, etc Attend musical performances Go to plays/readings - especially on pay-what-you-can nights. Volunteer gardening |

Hiking and other outdoor recreational activities, like kayaking and whatnot! Also, workshops or classes for shared interests would be fun to take with friends I'd guess. Karaoke? Maybe make your own book club with them or something?

I walk with friends. We have plenty of time to chat then and afterwards we visit a little longer with a bottle of water each. That's all. But it's something we look forward to ...
