My girlfriend has BPD. Lastnight someone contacted her and told her some things ( she hasn't told me what or who just that I should unfriend my ex's on fb). She now thinks that I have lied to her and said that we ( not she) need a break. Before lastnight we were perfect. I have read and continue to read everything about BPD I can get my hands on. I don't know what to do, should I give her the time she has asked for or should I just show up ( we live in different towns) I have reassured her that no matter what I am here and that if she needs me or when she's ready I'm not going anywhere. I don't believe I have done anything wrong...I'm lost

Hey! Welcome to Psych Central! I really think you should give her the break she wants. I suspect you have read about borderlines getting into black/white thinking and evidently now she has you wearing a black hat.
Have you read Stop walking on Eggshells? It's an excellent book about dealing with people who have BPD. Or are you talking about bipolar disorder? |
