Has anyone ever felt very jealous of the other friends your friend may have. Friends they have from another area or who they knew from another time in their lives. I sometimes hate these people and hold extreme anger towards them, especially if I feel they are stealing my friend away from me or taking up more time with them on me. I see them as threats to my friendship and believe they take joy in knowing them longer than me. I wonder do they talk behind my back about me or I worry that they will try to shame me by making up false accusations about me so that my friend will disown me. I know this all sounds crazy to be so worried about that, but I don't know, that's just me I guess.

I used to feel those kinds of jealous feelings all the time and it has caused a lot of destruction in my closer relationships. I've always been an overly jealous person naturally and it sounds like you may be too. I feel for your struggle.
For me, after years of experiencing those emotions and working hard at changing my perspectives, it has gotten a lot better. It still effects me but it is a lot more manageable now. I hope you can find the same peace about it as I have. |

Not so much as long as my friend still does things with me and sees me as a good friend. We can have old friends and newer friends, as far as I am concerned.

I get jealous sometimes like you or just over-think situations like this but I usually keep those emotions bottled up and try to sort them out before I take any action. In my close friendships where I've felt jealous, there turned out to be no reason for it. I think it's normal to feel this way sometimes but try to think or work through your emotions before you do something rash.
