As a very sensitive person, when my girlfriend of 4 1/2 months said (while joking around with girl-friends), that she would love to marry Channing Tatum or some celebrity, I felt a little down. These little comments upset me because although there are many celebrity crushes that I think of as beautiful, and "marriage material", I never think of saying that to or around my girlfriend because I don't want to make her have any doubt of my feelings. I know she isn't as sensitive to things like that as I am, but I wish those kind of comments didn't affect me as much. Obviously Channing Tatum is a hunk that all the girls are swooning over these days, and while she was saying this to her friends (while she knew I was next to her, mind you), I wish these comments didn't make me question her feelings for me, like, is she not satisfied with what I'm giving?
Any thoughts?

I think anyone wishing marriage with a celebrity is an idiot.
No, seriously ... how many happy Hollywood couples are there IRL? She says that, it sounds like a princess life--but fame sucks.

Let her gab with girlfriends. You're real! --you're there. Nourish the relationship & be yourself. You're the best thing she has.

Boys say silly things to other boys sometimes ... likewise girls. Sensitive people need to remember that silliness happens and try to protect themselves from it.

WHO is she with? Is she with Channing Tatum or any other celebrity? She's with you, friend. And if she wanted anyone else, she wouldn't be with you. That means you are something special to her. Next time she says something about it say something about a female celebrity. Pick the most beautiful one you can think of and say you think she's hot. It'll make you feel better because while you two can joke about wanting celebrities, you really have each other in the end.

I think you are being too sensitive. Everyone says they want to be with a celebrity. Men want to be with beauty queens. The reality is it is not going to happen. It is just fantasy and a way on commenting on how much they like them.

I understand your sensitivity. I get very upset and jealous if my boyfriend has a crush on a celebrity and I know I do to him and he feels the same. I am getting better at not letting it get to me. Like others said, she's with you. We all fantasize.

I agree with everyone (including you!) in that you are being too sensitive. It doesn't matter what she says because she is just joking around with friends.

When I am with my guy friends I always say stuff that I would not say around my wife, and it isn't as if she is having an affair with Channing Tatum, she is with you! She was probably just having fun, don't think about it too much.

There are people who say such things because they KNOW they aren't going to happen. Try and relax and know she is with you.
