I think that my L and I are on the verge of a breakup. Hurts as hell even though everyone says it is the right thing to do I am scared and lonely and depressed to the core

Break ups are almost always painful. The pain gets easier as time passes. I hope you have a good support system, if not we are very supportive here on PC.

My mother once said, "It's harder on the dumpee than it is on the dumper." However, in time, things will look better, regardless on what side of the dump fence you are on. Here's a cyber hug to tie you over. HUG!
