I am curious to hear others experiences. I find as I make improvements, I find out who my real friends are. The real ones encourage me always. The fake ones seem only happy if I am complaining. They make rude comments or change the subject if I talk about something good that happened for me. I lost one of my best friends this way. It's not like I am bragging about something fantastic that happened for me. I've got lots of problems still and they know it, but for some reason they get angry at my positive attitude. I wonder if they want me to be miserable. It hurts that they can't be happy for my small successes.

I think some people are attracted to negative folks. I'm not sure why. But, for those who are, your not being that way anymore is sort of like breaking the role they expect you to play. Even family members sometimes try to force people back into a negative, "sick" role and don't like the fact that they are changing one bit.
I think true, healthier friends will stick with you, and you are likely to start attracting healthier people. That's my opinion, anyway. ![]() |

Hi Seiya, Have you ever heard that misery loves company. Well unfortunately some people do not like to see anyone happy if they are not. I think it is great that you are working on being happy and more positive. You say you lost your best friend, but think again, if she was your best friend she would be there for you through the good (sounds wierd huh) With a good and healthy attitude you will make new friends who are thrilled to see improvements in your life
