So just a point of discussion really.
The thing is, I'm actually a lot more open than most of the people I meet. Most people are so up tight and all about their public appearance. They grovel and flatter everyone they meet; rarely an honest word leaving their lips. Because I'm more forthcoming, I tend to be shunned, while these others go about hiding who they are. What the hells up with that? |

It is better to be hated for what you are then loved for what you are not.

Hi Djinn, It is unfortunate that many people would rather be "yes people" instead of saying things like they are. I have always been one to speak my mind and I prefer others do the same with me. I think lack of self confidence is one reason for going along with what someone else says to be accepted. There are always those that back away but people who have a real interest in what others think will not shun you.
Just remember sometimes it is better to be quiet and you will know those times too.

Maybe you are shunned by those others, which places you in the category of those you are close to, is an honest closeness. What's that saying, those that mind, don't matter and those that don't do(?)

I have a similar problem. I'm honest and blunt and it makes people uncomfortable.

Honesty is always a good thing and I wouldn't worry about the fake people around you. Just be who you are.
That being said, there is something to be said for choosing the right time to vocalize your perspective. Don't fake things or pretend to like something you don't but sometimes there is wisdom in not saying anything at all. |
