So my friend has a IG(Instagram). Earlier today, this guy asked her what her Kik(texting app) was. She gave to him.

Now, she told me this guy is at least 20, probably older. She's 16. She doesn't know who this guy is at all. He said he's a catholic, so yea.

I'm just being paranoid? Or no?

Creepy. Unless she didn't tell him her age in which case she should end it.

Now, he said he's legally right to drink.

I've talked to her,& she said its not creepy. She gets angry at me,& said its normal. They had convo & yea. He asked if she had boy friend,& she said yea(she doesn't). He also asked for a pic.

Ugh...the yuck...the idea is I guess that you get attention from older guys means you are better somehow...I remember this from when I was in High School. And that was a long time ago, but, its kinda sick for an older guy to take an interest in a much younger girl and its all about sex...so, she shouldn't fool herself into thinking.
Those kind of rel. leave the girl heartbroken, used, and confused. And worse yet, pregnant I mean, it still happens, right?
Your friend is going to make up her own mind, but maybe you can forward stuff to her about what sexual predators really are, and how they operate, there is plenty out there about it.

At 16 I would be surprised if she didn't get angry at you. She's testing her independence. At that age we had friends that were about 21 (how we got alcohol) but they were brothers or friends of siblings of somebody and it was face to face, in the same town. Online he could be a completely "made up" character with very dark intentions. Since she is a minor and not listening to you I think it would be responsible to bring your concerns to her parents. It's just not appropriate.

Where she is a teen, and 16; if the age difference is within 5 years, it's not cause for alarm, so much. I forget the article, that I'd read, about such things, but I recall that there was a 5 year range there[teens/adults], for what could be considered, in the near 'creepy' category.

My ex Brother in Law, is 5 years older than his wife. He met her, when she was just in hs. She did, get pregnant. She was a mom, well before going to her HS Prom. They've been together for 25+years?

An online connection is completely different than meeting somebody in person. The only evidence that he is 20 is that he said it. And if he can drink then he is at least 21. Any decent guy knows not to contact underage girls online just like any decent guy knows not to approach women walking at night in a parking garage. So, assuming he is as young as he says he is he is still creepy.

I would be curious if she would support her child's 20 year old boyfriend getting her daughter pregnant before graduation.

Kik lets you contact people without permission?

Her daughter did go on, to be a teen mom. So, yes, of course, she gave her daughter support. Neither son, have children, yet.
