a friend is now telling me I've been quiet this week, when for the past year...
they would ask how I was and then their response went back to them, they never followed up on what I had said. their boyfriend, house hunting, their wedding, their pregnant, their baby. they got married and had a kid, so yes that changed things. It opened my eyes to realize that the relationship was one sided. I tried talking to them about it, and well, I got told you think this is easy for me? apparently being pregnant makes you allowed to ask for anything from your "friends" no matter what the cost to them, without a thank you. am I wrong to get suspicious of their intent sometimes? when it is said visit her and the child (hubby going skiing and to see if I can do it the next day), watch him for a couple of hours(on my own), when you know that they will need a babysitter in the future. it has nothing to do with me. all the broken promises, all the hurt, we use to be so close, and maybe I am jealous that she met someone, who became more important than me, and was house hunting on my birthday. because of this person, promises of coming over have changed. other plans are changed. can anyone make sense with how I am feeling? Or am I the one who is wrong? Maybe I am just tired and overly sensitive. sorry. |

Maybe you are a bit sensitive - but my guess is their lack of TRUE friendship has created a situation where you are sensitive for a reason........
*hugs to you. |

It's normal to feel hurt when you feel like you've been used by a 'friend' as a listener and a giver of favors. Sometimes it is hard to keep up friendships with people who are in such a different stage of life. Some of my friends seem to fall off the face of the earth when they have babies, while others seem to more easily integrate their old lives.
