My husband and I do not have kids together (which seems to be a big *** hinderance to me). I work but I do not make as much money as he (and we) do. I want to leave. I do NOT require a fancy lifestyle. He is mean to mean and controlling. He constantly tells me to leave, he is canceling the lease, goodbye, etc and I doesn't care how I'll make means knowing that I rely on his income too. He calls me names among other things. I just want to bleep this out and start anew. I don't want to involved law or anything. A quick "Oh btw I am divorcing you" letter is what I need. He has nothing I want and I know I have nothing he wants. Basically a handshake divorce but at the same time I am not in a point to do that?
Again, I work. My credit is terrible partially thanks to him. I own our car. It is solely in my name fortunately. I am going to try to take classes in a few months in a career I like and I think I'll be good at but that is based on money status basically. (LVN or RN). I am partially in that career already and love it. I just need to leave. I don't know how. I have no where to go. No family, no friends. All I have is my dog and I am not willing to give my dog up for anything. I'd rather just stay with my husband than get rid of him. You may laugh but that is because he is all I have. My Mom is in a nursing home and can't speak for herself anymore and my Dad has passed away and I have no family. There are so many government leeways... there has to be something for me? Or anything. I can't stay like this anymore. ![]() |

Is there a free legal aid service where you are? I think the costs and ease of this stuff really vary by state.
I think the money stuff sort of works itself out once you take the leap. My mother had to work three jobs for a while, but eventually went full-time at one of them and wound up making much more than my father ever did, even without a degree. |

How about elder care in someone's home? You may be able to find one that will allow the dog. Some elders don't need that much care, just want to have someone around. Maybe a flyer at your Mom's nursing home where it could be seen by someone in the right age bracket.
Filing divorce In Pro Per is easy to do! I hope you get away and get happier! |

Most states have all the legal forms, online. or you can get them at your local courthouse. Pro se, is ok to do.
