I don't understand why some people falsely judge others. For example, I know one guy who judges and thinks all international students at our college are rude and shouldn't be around, all because he didn't like his one roommate who broke some rules such as smoking in the dorms. Ever since then, anytime he sees an international student, any international student, he either mouths the F-bomb or flips them the bird behind their back. They could be the nicest people while he automatically assumes they are bad news. Not all of them are. It is never good to assume since I learned that it makes an ***** out of you and me. It drives me crazy and there have been times when I thought about just walking away or even saying something to tell him to stop, although I have told him to watch what he says and that they are not all rude, some are nice. But he doesn't believe it. Another person I know assumes that anyone who talks too much has Asperger's Syndrome or anyone who listens to certain music, or someone like me that doesn't like sex, is gay. I have told her to stop but she doesn't so I have distance myself from her. And I could go on and on. Don't understand why people judge others. And also don't know exactly how to handle people who do it way too much except distance myself from them a bit. I even worry that some people who do it way too much and towards almost anyone and everyone they know, I think they could be judging me behind my back as well since the saying goes, if someone is talking crap or judging other people and saying stuff to you about others, you can bet 9 out of 10 they are doing the same towards you behind your back. So yeah, it is annoying when it comes to dealing with people who judge or talks crap about other people.

I think you have the right idea. If saying something to them (calling them out on it) isn't advisable...then you could either let them know you're uncomfortable with that sort of belittling talk, or................just walk away.

There is another phrase you should be aware of, besides the one about people talking about others behind their back -- and I agree with you on that one--and this phrase should make YOU stop and think.

Birds of a feather flock together.

If you don't want to be labeled equally judgemental.....get the flock out of there, when the talking starts....or before, preferrably.

I never heard of that phrase before but what you said makes perfect sense. Next time I hear judgements falling out of these people's mouths, I may call them out on it but more than likely I will just get out of there. And since I know they will continue to judge, I will just leave before they can start talking. What you said makes sense though and I agree with it.
Thanks for this!

Just this thing happened on another thread here yesterday and today. Someone was labeled phobic for expressing a, basically, generic opinion.

Whoa, well then this was created just in time. What a coincidence. Yeah it can be crazy at how quickly people are to judge in general in today's society.
Thanks for this!
