I am 24 years old and I've been in a relationship with my partner for many years, all through which I have struggled with depression and anxiety. He has supported me and we have been through much together. He is the only person I have ever been in a relationship with. However, recently, my issues have become more severe. I am at the point that I don't even want to spend time with him. I don't get excited to see him, and I have zero sex drive (not just toward him, but in general - maybe this could be depression or Paxil related? Or just losing interest? I don't know). I even forgot about our anniversary, something I have never done.
Tell me, in your opinion(s) and experience(s), am I falling out of love with my partner, or is it my mental illness talking?

Hello madqueer and welcome to PC I think it is definitely possible that your meds could be decreasing your sex drive, but I also think the meds could affect your feelings towards your partner. I know when I was on meds and with my partner I felt little and that affected us. It is also possible that you are falling out of love. I think you'll have to just really think about how you feel and if you want to continue to be with your partner. Maybe you could try couples counseling?

I agree meds can affect sex drive. Try the couples therapy!
