I just met a new neighbor tonight! He's just moving in today. We talked alot and compared stories, walked all around the building--I mean, we found an unlocked door downstairs and took a tour of the empty stores downstairs, the basement, and more. It was interesting! After quite a while, the owner came on by. The new neighbor guy was expecting him to come by. We didn't get into any trouble. We found a lot leaks that caused serious damage in parts of the building, so that and other things just has us wondering more about what we're getting into living here. It was just more talk and questions and stuff once the landlord found us. This new neighbor seems really nice. There might be parts to him, but I don't know all his story. He seems okay to trust. He's got kind of a sweet side to him, but serious, too. Finally, I move someplace and will actually have a descent neighbor to talk to! New neighbor!

Oh, I know not to trust too much just yet. I don't know what's behind the rest of the story, as they say. So far, he does seem nice. I think he was looking for me again later, but was to shy to come to my door directly. There is a storage area almost directly across from my apartment. It just has stuff in the landlord has been saving, some junk that other people left behind, some paint, etc. The door seems to be unlocked usually, and of course the new neighor and I have looked around in there learning more about the place. Well, I could hear him going in and out and hanging around by the storage room last night. I was kind of shy to go out just to see and talk to him. This morning when I left, I found two small packages of nuts by my door. He had evidently put them on the door handle and they fell when I opened the door. It's really sweet, I think. A nice gesture, at least. It happened to work great because I needed a snack for while I'm away today--and by the way, the first pack was good--honey roasted cashews. I think I've got a new friend. New neighbor!
