Just needed to talk.

There was someone in another mental health forum, a long long time ago, that I really hit it off with. She was awesome, smart, and a very good, kind friend.

Unfortunately, that forum prohibited exchanging email addresses, and I drifted away (lots of crazy mental health stuff, went to grad school, graduated and had to find a job, took a break from therapy so that I could stabilize myself, etc.)

So, I've been curious about her. I have some old posts printed out from her that have been really helpful to me. I miss her a lot, and I regularly check the old forum (I don't have an account there anymore, but I pop in and read) to see if she's turned up. She was on the verge of changing her name there before though, so it's possible I don't recognize her.

I thought to google her old screen-name and the name of the forum tonight, and she has a profile HERE! At PsychCentral! OMG! I just about died with joy and happiness and delight and... the profile is >10 years old (I told you, this is from a LONG time ago.)

It's still here, but there have been no posts for 10 years. And there were <100 posts from when she was active. I sent a PM anyway... hoping that *maybe* if the universe is smiling on me today, it will trigger an email to an account that she is still using, and she'll see it. Maybe... *sigh*.

But, I'm not hopeful. And, I can't find her in any other google searches. And, I'm sad. A little heartbroken. I don't even know if she'll want to talk to me, or if she'll remember me. But I so would love to get back in touch, find out how her life has gone, find out if she had any luck with the potentially-awesome therapist she had started seeing way back then, and catch up.

There's nothing anyone can do. I was stupid for drifting away. I regret it. I guess just... if you can... send some positive energy into the universe for me that the PM gets through, and that she can still access her account to reply?

Thanks The Skeezyks and stargazer1124 for the kind thoughts, and to everyone for sharing hugs. Sadly, no reply yet... so my hopes are fading here. I think I'm going to have to let this one go, and just hope that maybe one day our paths cross again. A little sad. But ok. Thanks...

Thanks Nature! It was pretty cool... and astounding! When her profile page came up in Google, I opened it and got to PsychCentral, I was confused at first because the old forum used to have the same color scheme that I see here. I almost thought I was brought back in time to the old forums (which today look totally different). Made my brain spin a bit before I realized it was this site, and hey! I'm a member of this site too!

I was really excited, until I saw that profile was from ~2004 or so. *argh*!

And, yup, the profile is still there even though she's not active, so I just sent a regular old PM. I included my name on the old forum and my new name here. I'm now thinking I should have included my email, so I might try sending another one, since she may not have access to this site anymore... I wasn't 100% sure it was her at first, but I was able to pull up some old posts, and I'm 100% sure now (same state, same age kids as when I knew her, husband has the same profession).

I didn't try FB... I don't actually have a FB account! It sort of scares me, and I don't know if she'd have anything up there under her old screen-name, since it isn't her real name (and I don't know her real name.... maybe her first name, but I can't remember for sure.)

No response still... so like I said, maybe it wasn't meant to be. I will keep hoping though!

You don't have to have a FB account to look up someone ..
If you know her first name or think you might know it and the state try typing that .

I found people using whitepages.com as well
Do some more digging on the old post maybe she might of said something that will help you find her better . You never know

Oh cool, thanks Nature... I'll give it a try! I do know enough about her to recognize her profile if I saw it, I *think* - although some of that stuff could have changed. It's worth a shot!
