Every time I try to make a friend, I try too hard and come off as irritating unintentionally.

I am sorry that you feel you come off the wrong way. Sometimes other people just feel awkward and also feel that they are coming off as a way they don't want to. You never know what someone else is thinking. Did you ask them if anything was wrong? Don't give up trying. Sometimes our own thoughts are not really true.

I kept asking a new friend if she was mad at me and she was so puzzled every time and said "no". It was true, it was my own thinking that was scaring me.
Thanks for this!

I do, sometimes they do say yes other times no. Most of the time it can be either or so there isn't anything set.
