Okay so I'm at the checkout at the grocery store and I start to ramble about some television show to the lady behind me. She smiled politely and so I continue rambling in rapid fire nonsensical terms until she now has a stunned look on her face. I start thinking - can she feel the loneliness through the insanity? The checkout lady tells me to slide my card and I continue my verbal assault on the poor victim behind me. The checkout lady then informs me I need to hit the button to confirm the purchase - now she gives me a queer look having been partial witness to the earfull I just laid on the innocent bystander. Suddenly I felt light headed and the room got really bright - will I pass out. On the way out the door I glance back and the checker and the lady behind me are whispering something - I imagine it is something about how desperate some people are to get little recognition. I can only nod in agreement and turn toward the parking lot - shaking.

I really like the quote and the story. I wish I was more open sometimes even if people thought I was weird.

Sounds like you tried to interact, got nervous, and came down with a rather severe case of verbal diahhrea! It happens.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. So you got carried away. I think it happens to a lot of us at times. Just forget it and move on.

Yep, I agree don't let it bother you. I talk to strangers pretty much randomly too, strangers sometimes talk to me - personally I think it's a human need and makes the day nicer.
