I have raised my three adult sons to the best of my ability. They are grown and are emotionally abusing me everytime they see me unless they are gaining something from me - money, car etc.

Do not ever tell your children about your MI, they will throw it back in your face when they get older and blame your MI for all of THEIR problems.

I am now temporarily disabled and so I need their help. The abuse has gotten worse the more I need them. I am putting some major restrictions in my living will. They want to throw me into a Mental institution so they can get all my money if they can prove I am not competent. I have to protect myself even from my adult sons.

They absolutely REFUSE help. I have no other family - they are dead. I have no friends because of my MI. I am trapped in a place I never thought I would be.
There is no light at the end of the tunnel just more emotional pain.

dancing lady, I am so sorry you have suffered bullying and abuse. No one should have to endure that.

You are saying you are temporarily disabled so I hope that is only a brief period. It is a shame that children are so self seeking.

The law does protect people hospitalized and you have the right to a lawyer who can be a public defender to insure that your rights are not being violated if you ever found yourself in that situation.

Please keep coming to Psych Central and other places for support. You will get through this somehow.
