Have you ever stepped up to the plate and done the right thing despite having very good reasons not to?

As much as the woman was not the kindest to me, I went to visit my former mother-in-law in the hospital today. She has had multiple strokes, and as a result is suffering dementia and the inability to care for herself. Neither my ex nor his siblings live here, so ~ I ~ am the closest thing to family she has. Thankfully she recognised me. And, when all was said and done I realised I was happy to have done it.

That is a very noble thing to do. Sooner or later we realize that we all can be a handful at times and we need to be forgiven.

No, I generally avoid people who have hurt me. My observations of others is that most people are the same way. So she is very lucky to have you.
