No matter the situation, no matter the thing I say, no matter how I do at something, no matter what I do, I am always in the wrong. It doesn't matter that everyone else can do it just fine, but can I do it? Nope. I don't understand why life has decided that I just will never experience the normal social reality that everyone else on the planet gets to experience. I've tried on a couple of occasions to wait for the right opportunity say to ask someone out, or at least inquire if they were available, but I got the sense that I was creeping them out.... So I've decided that I'm just going to give up entirely on social interaction at all.

Hello Fleury29: Thank you for sharing this concern. I have often felt this way as well. I have said, in the past, that if there is a mistake that can be made, I'll find it. Personally, I just keep to myself. Fortunately, I'm old. So this is easier to do than it would be for a younger person. I hope that you will be able to see your way clear to not give up on social interaction altogether. There is much to be said for solitude. But it can get very lonely...

Sending ((((gentle hugs)))) not sure that there's right or wrong as far as socialization. Nothing wrong with being a lone wolf, so to speak. Some bonds develop slowly and over time.
Are you involving yourself in anything that purely interests you? A hobby group(arts/writing/collectors groups)? Communitity politics/neighborhood associations/charity? Things that are your passion? Can be hit or miss, but sometimes friendships develop through networking.

You are afraid to be hurt by being rejected. Withdrawing will keep you fragile, and thus perpetuate your situation. Rejection is painful, but loneliness is even worse. Be aware of this.

For me I am socially anxious and don't have interests (I have few interests but no interest in sharing them deliberately), so I find it difficult to seek meeting people. If you have something that you are willing and interested in sharing, then some group meetings is a good place to start.

I find it hard to believe you're wrong about everything. There is a difference between being right about something, and being right and trying to convince others that you are right.

I'm 49, and I've come to realize that many people will refuse to acknowledge when someone else is right. It doesn't make the other person any less right.

I kinda like people who have a quiet confidence about them. It may take some time to develop, but it is possible.

And it's admirable to be able to admit when one is wrong.

If it's about social anxiety and introversion, then look into the benefits of introversion. I really enjoyed
