I have major depression and PTSD, and this is the first time since my "nervous breakdown" that I've gone back to the dating scene. I've met a lot of guys online and they're pushing me to meet them. And it's not that I don't want to meet some of them, the problem is, I don't want to do so during the week. I work full time and have serious sleep pattern issues, and I don't want to do anything to screw up my sleep schedule and my ability to get to work on time. So I only want to do stuff on the weekends.

When I do finally meet with one of these guys, I have no idea how they'll take seeing the scars all over my arms.

How do other people deal with the effects of their disorders while trying to date?

Bill, they just seem to want to meet ASAP, and if it's during the week, I can't. One guy I'm talking to, that I like, is pretty chill about when we meet up, but some of the other guys just want to get straight to meeting with barely even talking to me, and I just can't do it during the week. I don't feel bad about saying no. I'm old enough and have enough self respect to meet my own needs first.

It's totally acceptable not to date during the week. I wouldn't either. It's somewhat typical not to date during work week. I knew one guy ( I knew him in real life just not romantically until he started asking me out) pushed to meet during the week and it turned out he had a girlfriend, that's why his weekends were busy hhmm

As about disorders. I don't have any but i am getting married to a man with severe OCD and Tourette's syndrome. Doesn't bother me at all. Most of it was obvious on a first date but he disclosed details on a third date. Not a problem for me. When you meet right person, he'll accept you

Thanks, Divine. I thought maybe I was making an odd request to not going out during the week, but it seems like it wouldn't be out of the ordinary.

Nope. Nothing odd. I don't go anywhere during the week except work as I commute two hours a day. Sometimes maybe Friday night if not too tired. Most people who work don't go out during the week

This is my approach. I have BPD and take it as it is, just meeting and talking. You may find one that is very easy to talk to and is really cool. You would be very surprised if you drop little parts of your past that may have been rocky, that may be able to relate. You could have met me! I would feel comfortable that you wouldn't judge me when my disorder. Take it slow, have fun, and don't have any expectations and don't jump into anything that doesn't feel right at all.
