At work I sometimes clean the restrooms. There is the tampon receptacle in each stall and you put a waxpaper bag in there. Another person on a different shift-pretty sure I know who-has only been putting in the bags without opening them. The users of the restroom won't of course open them but put used tampons as well as fecal containing toilet paper and underwear in there. This then gets on the walls of the receptacle box which now has to be cleaned. Very smelly, messy, dirty. Normally you just reach in there with hygienic gloves and take out the wax bag. The management has been told of this a few times but I doubt anything at all was said to the offending person-because I know these people and know how they operate. My question is what would you do? There can be no other reason than incompetence/laziness by the other shift r r cleaner. I left a note on the board saying 'open the wax bags jerk off'. It will be the weekend before I find out anything.

I think it is in the hands of the supervisor although it sounds like they aren't responsive to the issue.

I do think you could be terminated on the grounds of insubordination based on your note. Understandably, you're frustrated but insulting someone (in documentation) will be ineffective and inopposite to your best interest. I do not mean this unkindly.

I've not worked in your industry so I don't know how much you're expected to clean up, etc. I imagine toilet paper must be installed. Your current issue may fall in a grey area. I'm saying you may be responsible for cleaning that "as is" whether it's the cause of your coworker or a patron.

Perhaps sit down and professionally discuss the issue with your supervisor. Don't confront your coworker or leave another derogatory note. That's not to your benefit. I wouldn't mention the note to your supervisor. If your boss mentions it, be honest about writing it. Otherwise, I'd not mention it. Keep the meeting brief.

If your employer isn't responsive, you may want to consider another line of work. Can you get out of this work task altogether? It sounds like you do other tasks at your job.

Good luck.

Thx for your input. I have talked officially with three lower sup's and I doubt anything was said to the offender. It did occur to me to go to the store mgr and then on up to Bentonville as is the route posted when you don't get results. But too many times over my working life I've had to tolerate harassment from supervisors but had to take it because of a family that depended on my income. This job is not that important now so I'm not going out without making my point. I've told myself No more!

You're welcome, I'm glad we were able to help a bit. That's good you asserted yourself with the sup's/mgmt.
