I really look up to my boyfriend's mother. I view her as being the mother I guess I wish I had and I feel like I love and admire her.

Recently my boyfriend's brother has gotten a new girlfriend and I am filled with jealousy over it. She visits the house and it hurts so much when I see them talking together and getting on. I feel so hurt.

Has anyone else ever experienced this? It seems so silly but it really does hurt. I think its my wounded inner child coming out.

Jealousy is a draining emotion. Rather than focusing on the fact that it exists, see what you can do to further improve your relationship with your boyfriend's mother. Not at all as a means to compete with the new girlfriend but as a means to give you inner peace if your solace lies with her and not with your own mother.

Crazy Hitch is right, jealousy is a draining emotion and it would be best if you could just concentrate on your relationship with his mother rather than think about her relationship with the brother's girlfriend. Counseling might help you heal your inner child and resolve these issues.
