I think I stepped in it again.

A friend of mine is engaged and she started talking about her honeymoon. I told her that it was a long ways away and she might not make it that far - whoops... She didn't like it. I'm becoming adept at doing this.....oh crap....😳😳😳😳😱😱😱😱😱😎😎😎😎 just needed to vent.....

Saying something like that to her is definitely not supportive. Do you know why you would say something like this? Just from reading this post, jealousy comes to mind. Perhaps you are jealous of your friend being engaged. Jealousy is natural sometimes but do try your best to be more supportive.

Probably - I should just stay away from people because I'm in a dark place and a bit bitter.

I know I'm just not really in control - I'm angry that I don't have this kind of support in my life. I can't be around content people without thinking negative thoughts. I'm sure there's a term for this....

You made a mistake that you need to sincerely apologize for. Making mistakes is how we learn...(unfortunately).

I hope you can get back on good footing with this person. And maybe remember to edit your thoughts. Something I have trouble with. My foot lives in my mouth, I think.

Yeah well I recently did a similar thing with somebody else and it was a bad experience. Thing is it came out so fast I didn't even think about it. I need a mouth blocker....((((

Would you feel better, if your friend's wedding plans fell apart? I don't think that would actually make your life better. Sometimes, content people are the best friends to have because they are not all absorbed thinking about their own problems.

Sorry about that. I guess all you can do is apologize and try your best to control yourself next time. That's all you can do, really.

You made a mistake. You can't take it back. You can apologize and strive to not do it again. Barring that, just be on alert when you're around content people. I'm sorry you're having such a tough time.
