The wierdest thing happened to me last night. My boyfriend was going through some old pictures and he loves to show me them. He came across a bunch from his senior prom with his old girlfriend. Normally stuff like that does not bother me but she was the love of his life. They were going to get married and she was his life. In the end she ended up doing some unbelievable things and completely destroyed him. To the point that he did not date for almost 8 years after they broke up.
When he still talks about her I can sense this longing in his eyes and this tremendous sadness.
The thing that triggered me was in the pictures he was looking at her the same way that he looks at me. I just felt my heart drop to my feet and I do not know why. Im not even depressed or upset with him at all. I just wondered why I feel this way. I know that he has dealt with their past to a certain extent. But it makes me so angry to know that he will probably carry that sadness around forever and I cannot change it. I just dont know why the pictures triggered me so.

Well, I cannot blame you for how you feel. It's one of those deals that, when we accept them into our life, we take them with all the garbage they bring inside their heart.

Maybe you should cook a romantic dinner, you know, with candles and all. Have it with him and then talk about the "picture incident". It make clear the smoke ....

Besides, I bet you he'll kiss you and love you like crazy after that.

That is a great idea Gloria. We will probably have some alone time tonight so I will try it. Maybe get a bottle of wine too.

Wow,

I hope things worked out with your dinner. That would be very difficult for me too. She is the one that lost out though, right? You haven't done any of those terrible things to him, so I am sure he feels much closer to you than he ever did to her. Put those pictures away in a box somewhere. I would ask my hubby to not look at them when I am around. That would be hard for anyone.

Meachie,
Him and I talked about it this weekend and all is well. It is funny because he just did it and did not even think it would affect me. He just does not think of stuff like that...I know that he meant no harm or to make me upset. I want him to keep pictures that bring him memories of the good times. He told me that he threw out all of the pictures of them together except for a few of the good times. I cannot blame him for that.
