I have had to hire a tough lawyer to deal with my divorce & protecting my assets.....since the jerk in my life will hopefully soon be my ex.

He will ignore that too but in this case in will end up biting him in the rear. Had to let him take enough rope to tie himself in knots. It may not turn out good short term the the final judgment will tie the knots tighter

Fuzzy, I worked ER for many years, and at the last one I worked for there was this one girl who would plague my world. She didn't have the education I had, or the empathy, but she seemed to always be a thorn in my side. So what I did was (kill her with kindness), in your case honey! I always gave her a card for holidays that required it, a small gift for X-mas, and Easter, a flag for the 4th of July, ect... It would drive her nuts, bc she thought she couldn't get to me, even though she was. I never let her know she bothered me at all. She would say something, like almost barking a order that a Doc. would want done, and I would just say something like, (sure, I will be happy to take care of that) and I could see it irritated her, and I would walk off with a smile, even though I didn't feel like smiling. Also they do call it practicing medicine.

I want to redirect to the original question which was quite broadly speaking in general terms. To me what it really comes down to is what do you want to accomplish by 'winning' these instances? In what way will besting them make the situation better? I have had difficulty with this and spent a great deal of time frustrated and resentful. Is this the battle you wish to lay everything on the line for?

If it is something that takes your rights away then it is worth fighting against. If it is just them bring a jerk & there is nothing to really "win" it is best to just walk away or let go if what they say knowing their comments hold no value.

What bugs me more is the person being a totally silent jerk who won't communicate anything in words just in actions. I lived with those kind of jerky people all my life & have grown over the years to have zero tolerance for that.....thus the lawyer when necessary. Onterwise I totally will not associate or use a professional who behaves that way.
