A friend said to me long ago .. and I think these are wise words .. “is it really a good thing to be the most popular person on a psych forum” .....

I’d rather be me than be the most super popular and loved by all.. if such a thing even exists...

Some always dislike me for my opinions.

And when I was a cub they disliked me because I was forced to be silent.

(Not about anyone on pc)

Lol that’s funny about being the most popular person on a psych forum. It’s a good thing to consider. I have found popularity anywhere has its drawbacks for sure. I would rather quietly blend in. A friend..

Fuzzy, I think of you as "popular" on this forum (like Sisabel says, maybe you can really laugh about the thought that perhaps you fit in here better than IRL-- I think one key to being happy is self acceptance. )

I changed my username a couple of times here because of things like embarrassment. I've talked about things here that people at work have no idea about (that I attempted and my son is homeless). It feels like I am one person here, another at work, another at home, etc. The environment we are in can really effect our interactions. It is my hope that this community tries to be one of no judgement and support because many of us are here because we struggle. Thanks for being one of the many people here who is always so supportive.

People who are popular in the most positive sense of the word--put in a lot of effort reaching out, supporting others, being themselves, modeling behaviors or speaking about ideas that others gravate towards. For me, I am not always in the right frame of mind to be properly responsive, etc. I try to recognize when it is best for me not to say anything. There is a side of me that can be insensitive and some of my good friends from High School used to have a good laugh about it....

Never been popular.....never wanted to be. Just always wanted to be the best me I could be & if they liked me,great, if they didn't.....no loss.

I remember in high school one of the populatlr girls off campus clubs wanted me to join. I was flattered at first. Even did some if the initiation stuff but realized I really had nithing much in common with those girls & really didn't want to be a part if them.

Maybe because I was an only child I never cared for social groups or clubs unless they were service oriented.

Popularity is way too overrated & at my age no one is into popularity....we all just do our own thing together
