Happy New Year everyone!

2018 was a big year for me. I started and am doing well in my first post-college first time job and made sizable progress with my anxiety and depression. However, I've never had a serious romantic relationship and now that my professional life is stable, I want 2019 to be about improving my personal life. In addition to the anxiety and depression as I mentioned, I tend to be an introvert and even when I"m not, I still feel like I have a hard time meeting people. Anyone have any helpful ideas? Anything would be appreciated

Hi Crisscross,

I am happy to hear your life is stable. Have you made any friends at the place where you work? Do you have hobbies where you can meet people? Maybe you can meet your neighbors and chat with them. I would start off with small talk when meeting new people. It is safer than telling people all about yourself when you first meet them. I personally am not crazy about small talk, but I do use small talk with acquaintances just to be friendly. Perhaps these ideas will help.
