Seems I’m alone here too ...

An “expert” told me I was “always alone”

(Meaning from early childhood... but said with a highly indifferent tone of voice, body language etc...

I honestly do not get the “point” in that remark..

And there is now no point at all in asking that person

Please no “tough love” or “reminding” me of anything I’ve ever said before.... tough love, if it even exists... tends not to help me.

But yeah.. as anyone who has studied psychology will maybe speculate... any “love” offered to me by any family Units was either “tough love” or “highly conditional love” or both..

Having CPTSD it is not a simple matter to “move on” from the layers of pain. Flashbacks, etc...Nor would I wish to “move on” from being me.

Yes, I agree C-PTSD has it's name because it is truly "complex."

I am not & never have been a romantic & never believed in dreams.....UNTIL NOW. At 66 dreams are finally coming true way back to the TWO dreams I had as a kid.

One was to have a horse on my own farm & not live in the city ( Los Angeles where I was born & lived for 54 years). For the 12 years I have lived here I kept dreaming that some day my horse would be here with me. That is happening in 2 weeks.

Proving dreams come true....prayers answered & there are amazingly generous people in my life making things like this happen.

Kinda like when I finally got rid of my junky past life did start coming together

What I have learned is that there is HOPE & things changing in our life opens doors to healing we never imagined & to dreams that have only been dreams in the past.

Sometimes the future holds posibilities we never could have dreamed of. It doesn't change the past but sometimes it sure makes up for it.

I of course believe in love but I am not much of a dreamer. I am more of a “get things done” person.

I'm utterly amazed at myself because I read this last night and gosh didn't I have a vastly different response(to myself) than my response(to myself) this morning. I'm more cynical at night and slightly more optimistic in the morning. Thing is the only thing that changed was a few hours of sleep.

Do I believe in love? Yes, both cynically and optimistically. My cynical reaction was, yes, but it takes a lot of work and that I truly doubt there's any 40-50 something men out there that aren't utterly jaded to the pointbthat they self destruct their own chances at working on such a task such as love. Because let's be honest, it takes work..oh and being present. Physically, emotionally, spritually.
Yes, optimistically, of course provided that hope rings eternal.

Do I believe in dreams? Yes, I believe in goal setting.
Unless we're talking romanticism? Fate/Destiny/Kismet? Then that, too, might be why waking up each morning is a fresh start, new beginning, another chance?
