How interesting...

I’ve learnt something today, from an unexpected source.

It just shows how missing pieces of puzzles (isn’t the mind fascinating...) can occasionally be found in the least appealing places ....

Does anyone else ever enjoy jigsaw puzzles?

Please do humour me and forgive my “somewhat coded message”...sometimes it helps me to write this way.

I've had a few moments where some (but not all) missing pieces of puzzles were found.

There are some things that I will never find out, but it got to the point where I had sufficient information to make a decision.

I might understand what you mean. Sometimes it's best to speak in "coded" messages because we want to respect the privacy of our friends and family. People on here may not be able to assist as much but coded messages are much better than violating others privacy.

I have had experiences with friends and family which help me understand previous experiences, emotions, hurts from the past. Therapy can help us understand some of our "pieces" as well; however, understanding friends are better than therapy. (Sorry to mention therapy--I know good therapy is not available where you are. )

There’s a discussion in my other thread about the qualities all therapists need. Empathy was particularly lacking. As he actually told me. But if there had been understanding, intelligence and compassion I would have been ok with that. If all those are absent in a therapist...how do they survive for ??????? In that profession (yes..... I am aware I have mentioned this person before..... to anyone who happens to be reading this.)

I didn’t give the other therapists much of a chance really.. I didn’t find they were understanding though which would be the most basic requirement.

I had a similar experience with therapists and felt like you, also not giving most of them more appointments. I found them to be intentionally aloof as though that was what the profession must dictate they be? They would matter-of-factly hand me a box of tissues, showing no emotion or sympathy that you would normally get from a layperson.

I found some made really antagonistic remarks that really got under my skin. Why would I want to keep going to talk to someone who acted like this to me? So I didn’t go back.
