I'm sorry you had to go through something similar! I'm glad they settled for a quick visit and didn't hassle you. We can't really do a quick visit since it's an 8-10 hour drive or a 5-6 hour flight (no direct flights). I hope you are recovering well, kinda stinks to have surgery just as soon as the weather gets good, right??

Quotable quote! Hvert, when my mother had an outpatient lumpectomy, the recovery room nurse asked my brother and me if we were her social workers?! We're like, no, we're her darling loving children, isn't it obvious? I guess body language doesnt lie!

Hmmm, though I think you were only trying to provide another viewpoint, OpenEyes
Yes, that is exactly what I was doing with what I posted. When it comes to certain things instilled in an older individual it's important to consider their parents generation as that's often where it comes from.

That being said, I can totally understand hvert and her husband wanting privacy and time to themselves to first recover from the surgery and second to see what the doctor says.

I hope your husband is feeling better and your MIL is gone.

When I saw this video pop up in my Youtube list, it made me think of this thread:

The Family: Hospital Visit from The Carol Burnett Show (full sketch)
