Jealous about a profile picture?

Hi guys! I find myself feeling annoyed with the person I've been seeing for about 5 months: he keeps using different female actresses as his profile picture, at the same time saying he's only attracted to me. I find it weird and also am not sure if it is something to worry about. I feel like it is.
Would that bother you?
Any advice welcome!!

My first thought is that he does not want his picture out in cyberspace. Have you tried asking why he does it?

yeah i just did today. he said he's a fan of that actress

I can see why you would be bothered; being in a relationship doesn’t mean you don’t stop noticing other people, and even though not everyone cheats, it can still be unsettling to realise a partner might still look at other people like that, even if they’re unavailable in every sense.
Does this relationship feel acceptable to you, overall? What do you want to do about this, knowing you can’t control what he uses as for profile pictures?

I think what throws me off the most is that he claims to have his eyes on me only, saying he isn't able to see other people as attractive. i don't think there's anything wrong with liking or being attracted to someone else, it's the fact that his actions seem to contradict his words

Well, he is who he is - not much you can do about that really. Maybe just see if you can let it go, take his words as being truthful, and just see how things go from there. Afterall, they do say trust is a must for a good relationship. Trust and communication. 🙏

It’s weird. Honestly I’d be a little puzzled if my husband used some actress as his profile picture. It would be just so strange. Kind of funny? We certainly have 200% trust and I am not jealous. But it’s just kind of goofy.

Exactly. That seems like a BS answer to me as well. He could at least be honest.

It's just a profile picture of an actress he likes. Don't overthink it. He changes it from time to time. Probably doesn't like to use his own picture which I completely get. I think we can make too much out of completely insignificant things.

Is he a nice guy? Does he treat you well? Is the relationship solid? If so, then let it go. If not, perhaps this isn't really about he profile picture.

I think its creepy that a man who obviously dates women would use a female pic in his profile. Are these famous actresses?

You're not over-thinking it at all. He sounds immature if he thinks it's okay to use a female actress's image on his profile. How would he feel if some "random" did the same to him? Has he asked the actress in question for her permission? I think not!

Unfortunately, it's quite common. I closed an online dating account because one profile had the picture of a local radio show host, yet the profile was for an Afro-Caribbean man. Not disclosing nationality of local personality but he definitely wasn't black!

Back to topic, he needs to be shown the implications of what he's doing and not just from your perspective.
