Hi. I am new. Thank you to Sweet who helped me find how to write to everyone. I am curious if anyone out there is experiencing the same troubles I am. I am in a relationship and we are having difficulties with our relationship. My boyfriend says I do not talk enough. I am quiet. I am independent and am not the best at sharing my thoughts or feelings. This is frustrating for him. He is more of an extrovert and shares everything. I know two other couples who have the same problem - Quiet One & Extrovert. Any one out there who has dealt with this challenge - I am open to suggestions. Thanks

Hi tay, welcome to the forums!

I am very much like yourself, quiet, introverted and independent. I experience many thoughts and feelings, but they tend to stay deep inside my self. Sometimes, I believe that people see me as either a person with no thoughts or opinions of her own or as someone who is aloof and distant.

I don't know if it's much of a problem for one person in a relationship to be an extrovert and the other an introvert. I haven't dealt with this type of situation myself, except to say that, it's a great opportunity for the "extrovert" to help the "introvert" be as outgoing as comfortably possible.

You know that it is frustrating for him, but does he know how you feel about it? I know you said that it's not your thing to share your thoughts and feelings, but there's nothing like open communication to help a relationship to continue and grow. For myself, I seem to write my thoughts and feelings better than to speak them. Is it possible for you to write your boyfriend letters, expressing how you feel? That's what I would try.

Take care, and let us know how things are going.
