Coral, I would NEVER ask this of you, ok? I'd like to think that you would let me know if I was asking too much. Yet another rant!! I want nothing that isn't given willingly and freely.

"the above is "not" alot of money needed, and unless you plan to be your own lawyer, accountant and adviser ..... alot of that money would go to these fees, plus insurance"

Maybe I'm mistaken, (you can correct me on that) but I don't feel I need a lawyer. For the moment, and probably in the future, my business wouldn't warrant and accountants. I have software to help me with that. My oldest son ownes a nationwide business and has already given me much advise, for free. Yet another rant!!

"have you thought of what structure to incorperate under?"

Sole Proprietorship until/if the business grows to warrant and LLC.

"or will you be sole proprietor or in partnership ?"

Yes

"please don't take this post as a discouragment, I am all for your success but, ask yourself these questions first before getting your feet wet

Why am I doing this?"

Money

"Money?" YES LOL

"Passion for the industry or business ?"

Would like to receive money for something that is just costing me money with no returns.

"other ?"

Something to keep me busy, give me a reason for taking up space on Planet Earth, helping my youngest and his wife by "teaching them to fish rather than handing them the fish for free."

What I have to offer and am physically willing and able to give, Angie, would hardly hold water for these needs.

My intent in no way can be misconstrued as "non profit." Yet another rant!! Yet another rant!!

Tomi, they can help you with seed grant to get your business started, you will need a lawyer to incorporate and get a EIN number, tax number. also you might be able to get a lawyer Pro-Bono, if working out of your home use half the cost of utilities, rent, budget it for 3 years

be very careful, with home office write offs

Tax Id number is easy to get a the revenue office yourself or off their website, if you don't need to buy wholesale you should not need it, your social security number will be all that is required for Sole proprietor (I think) if you don't need to purchase equitment and supplies wholesale but, just need to file sales and use tax quarterly

EIN, is only for LLC and such or if you have people working for you (I think)

not sure if you need it for a S-corp, I'd have to check

first you need to go file your DBA form but, You probably are already aware of this, since the bank won't usually open a business account without it
