Would someone, anyone, everyone comment on this: What is it about recognizing people only when it is beneficial to ourselves? This girl at work came into our area to help out and she seemed friendly enough. Had pretty desent conversation, bet the next day I say hello and it's like we'd never met.
Why does it seem that when we share our hearts and lives with others, time passes without a word? Has friendship changed over the years and I was too caught up in living that I missed something? Did I fall asleep? I believe "friend" to be an endearing, life embracing word reserved for those who capture the heart and mind. Those you miss when they are gone, think of often and wish the best for always. But people are people and I am responsible for how I react and respond. stay golden and smile today.

Good friends are not to be found easily, I think.

Going off of your example here: Do you have to remember a person to be friends with them? Because wether you do or don't doesn't chnge that moment in the past. I would like to consider myself a friendly person, but I don't remember things like names and faces well at all, so I could have a friend for months but still not remember their name, or say, if I lost contact with someone that I had been friends with for years and when I meet them again it takes a little bit to recognize them...if at all. It's not that I don't care, or that I'm only using people for my own benefit and pretending to be their friend... I just remember people well. </font> |

I understand what you are saying. I'm a naturally warm and endearing person that likes to have good conversation with people. I work for an ad and Public Relations agency. Superficial friendliness is the name of the Public Relations game.
I certainly wouldn't take it personal. I often have hard times remembering names and stuff too. Not because I don't care about them.....I just forget. Chalk it up to another soul passing through your life. Don't sweat it.

hey. sometimes people have stuff going on and they don't realize that they are giving someone the cold shoulder. i know i'm often caught up in my head thinking about stuff and sometimes i'm not the warmest to people who i really do genuinely like. maybe... don't take it personally? she could have been distracted by a fight she had with her partner that morning or something like that... everyone has off days.
