My friend is bright, intelligent, creative, an honestly good person. And she keeps trying to die. I've lots count of how many serious attempts she has made and I don't know everything she has done. In the process she is becoming more and more physically damaged too.

I can't save my friend. I can't even help anymore. Except in a distant way by taking good care of myself. I make sure that as much as possible my PTSD doesn't get triggered.

I figured that I could keep her garden watered while she is gone, so I'm doing that. And praying that somehow she survives and is able to thrive.

Thanks Fuzzy. I can't save my friend

Rose yes, she has been getting mental health help, often inpatient, for about 15 years or so now. Hopefully eventually something works.

I originally wrote a much longer post about specifics but then decided I best not do so, and that the main thing for me to remember is that I wish her well - and I gotta take good care of myself.

I can't save my friend for all of us

Unfortunately if someone doesn't want help or want to live you can't make them. My brother and sister are self destructive and there is not a thing I can do about it except try to be there for them when they ask for it. It really sucks to have to stand idly by and watch someone wither away. Basically you have to watch someone drown with your hands tied behind your back, and just hope that someone will reach them in time. I hate this helpless situation. I know how you feel.

Take care of yourself, I hope your friend heals soon.

Just like what a billboard is saying everytime I am going home from school back in college "Pray hard, It works!"... Just leave evrything to God and He will do the rest...
