Tuesday could not come soon enough. Many here are alone right now but you don't know what it's like to be REALLY alone, to be 43 years old and never have had as much as one date. To never have known what a woman's touch is like, what a kiss is like, or anything "else". And trust me, I've tried my best all these years. I've learned the hard way recently that it IS because of my looks. I've known that all along but I now have the proof. I took one last chance recently and signed up for the Yahoo Personals with my photo included. I found out there are roughly 1000 women in only a 15 mile radius of me. Who knows how many more as the distance increases. It's now been two weeks that my profile has been there and not one reply, NOT ONE. I'm an idiot for even being surprised by this but at least any last bit of hope I ever had is gone for good. Repeat after me. BEAUTY IS NOT IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLBER. The towel has been thrown in. I LOSE!

I also dread The V-Day. It reminds me of what a loser I am. It took me a long time to go on a date and then I met what I thought was my soul mate. I worked 60-70 hours per week and used my income to put my former fiance through neurosurgical residency school (7-yrs) and then he left me 5 mo ago. I hated The V-Day before I met him, and during I felt like I was the only one engaged. Now The V-Day reminds me not only am I loser but a stupid loser as well. As to beauty is in the eye of the beholder - for me it is true: I was the only one who found him attractive. My friends told me after he left that they always thought he was ugly and couldn't see what I saw - I saw beauty - I was in love. I'm sorry you feel there is no hope - I know that feeling.
