I have a terrible time letting go of it when someone gets me really angry. I wish I could just let it flame and fade, but the more I think about it, the angrier I get, and then I'm in a crappy mood the rest of the day. It's that much worse when it's somebody I'm stuck with like it or not (like, say, my brother, who is on my case unjustifiably, IMO, but he's 8 years older and still thinks he can tell me what to do, although we are both no longer remotely kids).
So what do you do to calm down when somebody ticks you off so that you don't waste the rest of your day in a rotten mood? Inquiring minds want to know. -- a very growly Candybear |

You ask an excellent question.....wish I had the answer to give you. Sometimes I am very much like you and hang onto the anger. It sucks when I do that because then I project that anger to others who don't deserve it. Sometimes I'm able to work through the anger and let it go. Usually by talking it out with someone helps me to let go. It depends on who I'm angry at. I think the closer the person is to me, ie: family/close friend, the harder it is to let go of it. And to change longtime relationships (older brother/younger sister) and their dynamics can be very difficult....if not impossible. Wish I had more suggestions/thoughts for you. ![]() sabby |

I had a simlar problem, I talked to my husband about it and this is what he said to me (continualy for months).
What does it matter ? Just let it go.... What are you achiveing by being angry at them ? Upsetting yourself and others around you. Just let it go. It sounds hard but with practice it works, you get into the habit of letting things ride and feel so much better about things. |
