My parents, esp my mom is driving me nuts. She keeps checking to make sure I am taking my meds. I am an adult I think I can take my meds without Mom's help. It's like sometimes she is smuthing me and other times she is distant. I just dont know what to expect from her. I think she just doesn't know how to help me and that is what she wants to do. I am suffering from depression and self injury and she wants to make it all better and she can't make it all better. It is going to take time and she doesn't want to hear that she wants me fixed and fixed now.

I think the best thing to do is simply talk to your mom about it. She's trying to help, and is smothering you like you were a kid with a thermometer stuck in your mouth. But depression is a different type of illness, and that's what she doesn't understand.

Talk to her about this. I know it's tough, and describing how you feel to someone who doesn't get it can be tough. I think she's only trying to help, but if you feel as though she is pressuring you to feel better now you need to tell her that this will only make it worse.

I would also suggest some things for her to look up online so maybe she can really understand what is going on with you.
