Transference is universal; happens to everyone in all kinds of relationships. They don't know the "details" of yours, what you are "thinking" but they know from how you act, what you say, etc. "that". . .

Well, they sure do if you get roaring drunk and leave a voicemail that you can't quite remember, but that gives the general jist

I actually feel better for it though.

Well, I thought my therapist might suspect I have "feelings" for her, but I just found out she has NO idea.

I assumed she knew I was attracted to women because I was in a relationship with a woman. I was recently more explicit about my sexual orientation "I'm emotionally and physically attracted to men and women" and she had NO idea.

So much for my "flirting" with her...at least, now that she knows I am attracted to women, it might be on her radar...maybe.
Thanks for this!

If the question was not for me, my apologies.

I did not tell my therapist I am attracted to her, but I did tell her I am attracted to men AND women.

Story:

I am a married woman. Even though I was in a relationship with a woman in the past, my female therapist assumed I was straight.

I came out to her as bisexual the other day. She said she had assumed my relationship with a woman was a "one time thing".

I have had a huge crush on my therapist for almost a year. I had wondered if she had "picked up on it", but obviously she hasn't if she thought I was straight.
Thanks for this!

I see your reasoning, but it is not unheard of for straight women to have crushes on their therapists.
I suspect that a crush is more maternal attachment than sexual.
