So I've definitely called my therapist "darlin'" before haha She accepted it, by the way, acted like she normally would in conversation. I did this via text once. I did it with the utmost respect too. Do you think T's are comfortable with being called an endearing term in passing? If it isn't obvious, I am fond of her

To me, so much depends upon how you say the word 'darlin'.' I say it on occasion to someone, but I use it kind of comedically. Now, if you say the word with any sense of sexuality attached to it, even the slightest bit, that would be very weird.

Bottom line...only your therapist herself can answer your question.

In my mind I always call him... not sure about english equivalent, smth close to "honey".

Me with my friend call all nice people including him "kitty".

I've never used such words while talking to him. He often uses my pet name, but not such words

I can barely call her by her actual name. I couldn't imagine being so flirtatious. It feels unprofessional to me.

It raises an interesting thought for me - about how little direct interaction I have speaking to HER about her or us. I spend the whole time talking about myself, and we joke about mutual stuff, but I don't know how often I've even spoken directly to her as "You... (anything)" .

Hmm, I don't really feel like I can say my T's name either. I wonder what that's about?!

...I'm certainly not gonna start calling him by any pet names, anyway...

I can't call my T by his name either. I use my nick name for him which is Gordy! I think it's the child in me, who can't be serious & grown up enough to call a 'grown up' by their proper name.

Oh hell no. I did call her a "cruel woman" yesterday. Luckily, she took it the exact right way.

But I do have a nickname for her that she knows about. This is because we're actually namesakes, and I have a really complicated relationship with my own name. I love her nickname. I picked one of my favorite names for her.
