Patience really does go a long way. Sometimes God wants you to go through certain times in life so that you can arrive to the good times with grace and according to His will He has for you. Everything truly happens for a reason, and if you let go and trust the process things will usually work out for the best.
I had this epiphany while I was in a yoga class tonight. I have been completely anxious for the last couple days. Having crazy racing thoughts and feeling completely overwhelmed that I had so many things going on at once that I felt I needed to tend to. Tonight I realized, I can only tackle one thing at a time. I'm only human, and so is everyone else. If you're making an important life decision, or life change, it shouldn't be quick, and it shouldn't be easy. Over the last couple months I was getting really impatient with the way my life was going and feeling nothing short of completely stuck. However, there was that little glimmer of hope in me that said, "things are going to be okay, and there is a reason you are going through this". Somehow I just trusted the process, and rolled with the punches, and today I realized, it's my attitude that is making the process more difficult. I just need to change my perspective. Yeah, things are still hectic, I still have a lot of things to decide, and a lot of actions to take. But the only way things will be good, is if I allow the process and let them happen on my own. I can't control things. Worrying isn't going to make them happen any differently. I just have to let go, and do the best I can to keep a healthy, safe and peaceful life, and take care of myself and others. I love when I have epiphanies like this. Can I get an AMEN? ![]() ![]() |

I think you are exactly correct. Sometimes, when we are troubled, we want to yell out "Why does all this crap happen to me?" or something equivilant. Maybe the question should be "What can I learn that will help me to grow and develop into a stronger, wiser person tomorrow?". Finding the answer may not make things any easier for you, but at least you will have a purpose, instead of thinking the world is against you.

I wish I could believe that. I would love to see some good in my situation - some way in which I am growing. The only thing I can think of is that I am not afraid any more. I used to be very anxious about going places, talking to people, etc. Not anymore. There's no fear left in me, replaced instead with desperation. If I come out the other side, I WILL be a better and stronger person for it. I've just got to get out, which seems impossible.
If you're listening God: ENOUGH ALREADY, you proved the point!!! |
