Do you think that God would ever grant a mircle and eliminate Depression? If so, what do you think that it would take to persuade Him?

Can Depression ever be cured?

Yes I do and believe He does. However, I believe there are more miracles occurring than most ppl see. I don't believe in coincidences; they are "mini" miracles Depression - a mircle by God?

God uses men and medicines and our minds to help us create those miracles..esp the one you look for. Just the idea of hoping and looking for the depression to go, will help it lessen, did you know?

(((hugs))) It won't always be so dark.

(((hugs))) the only reason we can't see each other is because it is so dark here.

persuade him? God has lifted the deepest of depressions from me. The depression I get today is nothing compared to what it was and for that I am truely gratefull!!!! (good days). To me that is a miracel. Maybe he has already blessed you and you are looking for different answer. Was true in my case.
And yet maybe it just hasn't happened yet.
I have to add, that I was braught to my knees many times in desperation before anything was ever lifted. Today I know it is because it is very hard for me to be humbel. I never thaught that of myself but it is true.
is just my experiance.

This may sound strange but in my case I feel that my depression was God tapping me on my shoulder. Had to get my attention somehow. It's not much of a secret that an illness can cause us to become more spiritual. We of the more "sensitive kind" are deeply spiritual by nature....perhaps we just don't realize this until a life crisis guides our conciousness in God's direction.
I know this is hard to deal ...and I know how you feel right now. Every second hurts badly. However....just the fact that you are now seeking God's intervention in this is a positive step toward your spiritual healing. I don't think God will take depression away from mankind....but God will help you if you have faith that he will now lead you in a new direction.
Take care and ...pray deeply and often...

Yes, I too believe God performs miracles... and He heals...he does use men to do His work.... we have to have faith...

Where He is, there is no darkness...Read psalms.. David was depressed... many time he felt he would give in.. that he was too weak... that it was hopeless....

Everything is going to be alright....Faith

Freewill,

Getting through depression takes faith, and I think experiencing depression makes us more empathetic to other people, and difficult circumstances they may be facing.

I never thought much about the word "through" until a friend told me just how powerful that word is. God will bring us "through" our depression.

Feel free to PM me.

Thought I'd add this piece of comforting scripture that gives me hope during rough times: ISAIAH 40 verse 39 : "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint."
Have FAITH that God will help you; WAIT for his answer; TRUST in his guidence.

I think God gave me a tendency to get depressed because it helps me to empathize with other people's struggles. Also, my pastor has been on an anti-depressant for two years. I was surprised when I heard this in response to my struggle with trying an anti-depressant for the first time in my life. I think that her being on an anti-depressant helped me to see that having a problem like depression doesn't make me nuts or crazy.
As for a miraculous recovery from depression, it is possible. However, I think God prefers to help us through it. This makes us learn to lean on him more.
In one of his letters, Paul mentions a thorn in his side that he had asked God to remove more than once. God's response was my grace is sufficient. So, I feel that God wants to walk with us rather than remove us from our troubles.
I wish I could say that this will make you feel better. But, if your like me, it won't. When I cry, I can't always be cheered up. My poor T has got stuck with that problem.
