I swear I might have had a very brief OBE last night. I felt my body raise up, then was on my back on the ceiling , but just as fast as it happened, I was back in my own body, but left with a massive headache and confusion.

Part of me thinks my body is ready to die, but I think I'm having a hard time letting go because I want to know my family is always safe. I don't know. I do know that I am terribly depressed.

Anyway, it was a strange experience last night. I don't know what to think about it. I've never had an OBE before that I am aware of.

When I first attempted on my life, I had the strangest visions of people around me, of guillotines, of cameras everywhere, things like that and way before Edward Snowden even exposed things. That in itself still bewilders me to no end. Very , very odd. Its in my records....I remember the doctors telling me I was not right, that there are not those things, but low and behold, there are.

I just don't know what to think. I'm confused as all heck.

(((hug))) Yes, I have had a few OBE--- most when I was on deathbed and should have died...

But since you are confused, I would say this is not of God, since He is not the author of confusion.

Perhaps you could find a good outcome from having had this experience? Maybe try to look at your life from a "higher" perspective... rather than when we view our lives only from this ground level where we cannot see beyond the darkness and miseries.

If you can persevere there may be better things ahead, that you cannot see from where you are?

Of course, there could be a medical reason for this, and I would suggest you see your eye doctor first...as they can tell what's going on in the body by viewing the eye... there might not be anything linking, but then again, you've had a warning of some kind...I'd check it out (especially when you had a migraine afterwards?) It may have been a prodrome warning you of the migraine...but they do need to be treated (migraines) as they take their toll on the body.

Thank you for your reply.
Yes, I do think this is not of God. I started researching a little bit on obe and have seen some videos that talk about them not being of God , and more of a demonic nature.

In the past couple months, sometimes I notice myself almost trying to come out of my body. Its a surreal feeling. So when I felt myself on the ceiling for that very brief moment, I got so scared, not knowing what was happening.

I do know that I am very ready to be free from my body, especially my mind. I can't tell if I'm trying to let go and am discovering something new or what. I do know I don't want to enter into anything demonic.

Thank for your reply again. Hugs back to you

Demons don't exist. We shouldn't add to our mental illness with a fear of mytholgical beings.

Try some deep breathing meditation in a quiet room. **hugs**

OBE Out of Body Experience.

Quote:
OBEs can be induced by brain traumas, sensory deprivation, near-death experiences, dissociative and psychedelic drugs, dehydration, sleep, and electrical stimulation of the brain,[4] among others. It can also be deliberately induced by some.[5]

Science currently considers the OBE a type of hallucination that can be caused by various psychological and neurological factors.[6][7][8] Some parapsychologists and occult writers treat OBEs as evidence that a soul, spirit or subtle body can detach itself from the body and visit distant locations.[9][10]

yumi, I actually just saw a special on this, and they are doing research on this now. They showed how they had someone who could do OBE with no problem and so they hooked her up to see what parts of her brain were active when she went into an OBE. The back part of her brain became very active.

Some people can use parts of their brains more than others can, these individuals are being studied and they are really learning a lot, they are also learning how to stimulate different areas to the brain to help people learn better. There is so much we are learning now about the brain, we are really gaining. They are learning what areas of the brain are more active with those who are considered savants and they are learning that these areas can be stimulated to help people who struggle to do better.

I think it is important to learn more instead of "fearing the worst".

Yumi, I don't believe OBEs are necessarily a bad thing. I have a friend who can do it at will. He once "visited" his mother's house. She lives in Montana. He lives in Florida. He called her the next day to ask when she had moved a piece of furniture to a different room. That was what he saw when he "visited." She told him a couple of days before. Then, being an accepting person and a bit of a smartaleck, she told him to stop snooping around her house.
Thanks for this!

Well I was relating to the OBE with my NDEs Since astral projection is a belief/faith we cannot actually discuss it here in spirituality forum...

I think if we can discuss OBEs and NDE, we can discuss astral projection as they on the same level of belief/faith. Some say OBEs and astral projecting are one and the same. But all of the is speculation of course.

I have had NDE and experience astral projection at times. There is nothing evil involved, but since it can't hurt, speak to your T about this.

I very frequently have these types of experiences just from going to bed and closing my eyes and nearly every night I traverse reality into a land of dreams where I know what is happening to me. Sometimes, I even step out of my body into this strange new dimensional plane. Embrace the experience, but don't take it as any sign that death is near or anything like that. The OBE experience is in fact a sign of ability, intelligence, and some even say mystical abilities and experiences. I have them all the time and it is nothing resembling your body being ready to die. I am physically and mentally very healthy and I have even had OBE's where I truly believed that my physical body was dead at the time. OBEs/lucid dreams are incredible experiences that are in no way related to death being near. I saw my own body in my bed and thought I was dead and then here I am writing this weeks later and still perfectly healthy. I understand that the experience can feel very strange and foreign but in fact it can be an enlightening experience and a wonderful one.
