Hi all and happy Thursday,

We just finished a 4-week Lenten series entitled: " In the arms of Jesus."

The services covered evil, forgiveness, reconciliation and last night we had an AWESOME Taize service-a meditative service.

The other Monday night I went out with a group the Rector meets with -"Theological Reflection." It was the week after he'd talked about forgiveness. He had thought back to his childhood days and contacted people he'd hurt. It got me thinking about the time I was very possessive of a high school friend-30+ years ago. I feel I really hurt her feelings.
I talked to him briefly about it after the service last night. He said that, in the Episcopal tradition, once you confess something and are given absolution IT'S GONE! Forgiveness You don't have to contact them and ask for forgiveness-given the distance and time involved, I don't know what kind of response I'd get. I know the NT says God won't forgive you if you don't forigve others. OF course my OCD kicked in with the accompanying anxiety but I FEEL MUCH BETTER TODAY-I"M FREE! Forgiveness

Forgiveness I absolutely agree. It is just human nature to lay something at the cross and before we leave, pick it back up again. TC

Hi OC,
Your minister sounds very wise. I am glad your load was lightened.

Take care,
