While I know this is not a rhetorical question, I wish you could have given us more of the situation you are addressing.
The Bible speaks of many things, forgiveness is one of them...but it's also because it's good for US if we forgive and not harbor ill feelings. But we are also told to not cast our pearls before swine... meaning good words can be wasted on those who can't be bothered to care. Like I said, I could address it better if I know more... As for not inflicting any pain, no, no "good Christian" intentionally hurts another. But it does happen, thus the need for forgiveness from others. Are you a Christian dealing with these issues? TC!

Not sure what you're meaning here, but Christians are as human as the unbelievers. We're all given to human failings but it could be that if someone is hurt by words a Christian has spoken, that the person hearing or reading those words misunderstood what was being said. It could also be the spirit/mental attitude the receiver of the words had at the time. Many times, Christians are put in silly little boxes and a misconceived label is put on that box.
Christians aren't perfect but God forgives them if they ask for it.

hi jinnyann not fully sure what you are trying to say ,but i know forgiveness for me, especially for things i've done wrong have been the hardest to forgive ,yet it is easy for me to forgive and forget what others have done to me.my lack of self forgiveness i feel comes from my low self esteem and the illness of depression.we all make mistakes and as long as we are alive will probably do so ,not sure where it is written ,but we must forgive ourselves for our weaknesses again and again.............................

Been thinking more on this...
Just because I'm a Christian doesn't mean I won't get angry and show it. Christ did. He also said be angry but sin not... meaning there is a "righteous indignation." For me, there are many who accept Christ, but aren't followers. Christian means being a follower and an example of Christ...and there are only good ones, imo. Forgiveness is ascribed if the person asks for it. For a person to be forgiven, they must ask. Plus, imo, just saying you're sorry doesn't mean you asked for forgiveness. People can be sorry for a myriad of reasons, and still not care if you forgive them or not. Now have I confused anyone ![]()
